Its My Re-birthday

March 22nd 1970....I was born again at Foothill Baptist Church (S.B.C.). One week later....March 29th I was immersed in identification to Jesus' death, burial and resurrection...to new life in Him (Romans 6:1-14) at First Baptist Church of Sonora, CA.

I was born physically in 1958.
I am the oldest of three sons.
I was born at St. Joseph's Catholic Hospital. The nun's took me to the priest and had me baptized as an infant to be a member of the Church.
I went with my parents to Southern Baptist Churches in Seattle Washington until I was 6 yrs olds.

My parents were nominal Christians and never talked about their own faith. They would get into full blown fights over going to church...with cursing and blasphemy. Dad would be the instigator. However he was both a Sunday School teacher and Scout leader.

Because of the Boeing strike of 1965-66 my Dad moved our family to Angels Camp, Ca. We attended Foothill Baptist Church (S.B.C.) when it met at the Altaville Seventh-day Adventist Church. We stayed with my cousins, the Underwoods, who attended the San Andreas Assembly of God. Angels Camp was predominately Roman Catholic from Italian families that descended from miners that mine gold there. The second oldest church was the Congregational Church of Angels Camp.

My Pastor was Dan Lambert. He was blind and would preach from braille. I came under conviction by the Holy Spirit when I was 6-7 yrs old during a communion service. When I was 10 yrs old I memorized Romans 5:8 and understood I was a sinner whom Jesus died for. Then on Subday, March 22, 1970 I was born again and on Saturday, March 28 I was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Sonora. My Testimony

The gospel that saved me:

The Bad News

I am a sinner: Romans 3:10-12; Romans 3:23; John 3:19-20

Had I died as asinner I would have gone to hell; Luke 16:19-26

The Good news

Jesus came and died for me; Romans 5:8

Jesus' resurrected from the dead so I can have life; Romans 5:10

The way I am saved from my sins, from God's judgment, from condemnation, from going to hell is to believe in Jesus and to trust Him by calling upon the Lord; Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5; Romans 10:11-13

The Invitation God gave me

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, tho' tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind-
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find-
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

I know I am saved because from my heart I believed and God justified me and with my mouth I confess Jesus is my Lord. (Romans 10:8-10).

After I have believed...

God saved me and the Holy Spirit washed and regenerated me; Titus 3:4-7

I was born from above by the Spirit; John 3:5-8

I was born of God; John 1:12-13

The Holy Spirit joined me to the body of Christ...the Church; 1 Corinthians 12:12

God gave me salvation and eternal life as a free gift because of His grace because I received it by faith not by any works of righteousness I had done to earn it (joining the Church, being circumcised, keeping the Law, being baptized, partaking of sacraments, ect. ect.); Romans 6:23 b and Ephesians 2:1-9

God made me a new creation in Christ Jesus to be His workman doing good works He prepared in advance for me to do; Ephesians 2:10; Titus 3:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 6:15; James 2

I followed my Lord in the ordinance of Believer's baptism, teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer; Acts 2:41-42; Acts 10:44-48; Acts
16:32-33; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Here is my Birthday Song:

I know not why God's wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why unworthy Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.

Chorus

But "I know whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day."

I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart.

Chorus

I know not how the spirit move,
Convincing men of sin, Revealing
Jesus thro' the Word, Creating faith in Him.

Chorus

I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.

Chorus

I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noonday fair,
Nor if I walk the vale with Him,
Or "meet Him in the air."

Chorus
